In Saint-Martin, per regulator ARCEP's own quality report, measured between January and April 2025, five operators are present: Orange, Free, Digicel, Dauphin Telecom and UTS (branded UTS Caraïbe). On voice quality, Free and Digicel tie for second behind Orange; on loading web pages in under 5 seconds, Dauphin ties for first with Orange; on speeds above 30 Mbit/s, Digicel and UTS score clearly below average. On 5G, ARCEP names Orange as the only operator with a deployed 5G network in Saint-Martin, finding no statistically significant difference from 4G on most indicators. Dauphin Telecom markets its own '4G/5G' products, but without territory-specific confirmation for Saint-Martin — so plan on Orange for 5G and the other four operators for 4G.

For a non-EU visitor, or for a stay of several months, it's simply the fair-use data limit and the long-stay rules that apply, as anywhere in the EU — not a Saint-Martin-specific rule.
Saint-Martin and the Dutch side of the island
This is a question many travellers ask, and Dauphin Telecom answers it directly in its own FAQ: 'A Saint-Martin, est-ce que j'aurais du réseau côté hollandais ?' ('Will I have network on the Dutch side in Saint-Martin?'), answer: 'Le réseau côté hollandais fonctionne automatiquement et sans surcoût. Vous n'avez plus à vous soucier de votre connexion ni des hors forfaits, vous êtes connectés partout sur l'île.' ('The network on the Dutch side works automatically and at no extra cost. You no longer need to worry about your connection or going outside your plan — you're connected everywhere on the island.') This is specifically Dauphin Telecom's own arrangement for its own customers on its network, which the operator says covers both the French and Dutch sides plus Saint-Barthélemy; it is not a statement about Orange, Free, Digicel or UTS, and not a guarantee for any other eSIM. On registration, French law has required identification to activate a prepaid SIM nationally since 2016–2017 — no confirmation specific to a local point of sale in Saint-Martin itself was found.
